Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
The Southern Region Micro and Small Business Development Council (SRMSDC) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use srmsdc.org, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Who we are
SRMSDC is a nonprofit small business resource organization serving Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Our office is at 400 Poydras Street, Suite 1960, New Orleans, LA 70130. You can reach us at info@srmsdc.org or 504-293-0400.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you complete a form on this site, we collect what you type into it: your name, your business name, your email address, your state, and whatever you tell us in the message field. We collect this only because you chose to contact us.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, the pages you view, and the site you arrived from. We use Google Analytics for this. It sets cookies in your browser to recognise repeat visits and tell us which pages are useful. It does not tell us who you are.
You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for or store financial information, payment details, or Social Security numbers through this website. We do not require an account to read anything here.
Why we collect it
- To reply to you. If you contact us, we use your details to respond and to follow up on what you asked about.
- To connect you to the right help. Your business name and state let us point you toward programs, people and partner organizations that fit your situation.
- To improve the site. Aggregate analytics tell us which pages people actually read, so we can write better ones.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, and we do not trade it.
We share it in three narrow circumstances:
- When you ask us to. If we refer you to a resource partner, a lender or a corporate contact, we tell you first and we only pass along what is needed to make the introduction.
- With service providers who operate the site. Our web host and our analytics provider process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- When the law requires it. If we receive a valid legal request, we comply.
How we store it and for how long
Form submissions are emailed to our staff and recorded on our web server. We keep enquiry records for as long as we are working with you and for a reasonable period afterward, so that a returning business owner does not have to start over. Analytics data is retained according to Google’s standard retention settings.
We take reasonable technical measures to protect this information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the whole site. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to:
- tell you what information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your information from our records;
- stop contacting you.
Email info@srmsdc.org and a person will handle it. We do not require a specific form of words.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law. We honour those requests regardless of whether a particular law applies to us.
Other websites
This site links to other organizations, and some of our services are delivered through third-party platforms. Once you leave srmsdc.org, this policy no longer applies and the other organization’s policy does. We suggest reading it.
Children
This site is intended for business owners and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be announced on the site.
